A “Word” from our 23rd Annual Chair Person, Celene Terry:
As we approach our 23rd Lord’s Acre Harvest Festival, I find myself pondering the scripture that inspired this year’s theme “Anchored in Christ”—“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure”—and the opening lines of the 23rd Psalm, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” The youth of our world are indeed our hope, and we pray that they will be anchored in Christ as they become our future leaders. Lord’s Acre provides our church family an opportunity to lead, nurture, support, and provide HOPE to the youth in our community. Individually, we may not directly influence the life of one of our youth, but collectively we can. Let us HOPE that this will be the year that our youth ministry grows in strength, in numbers, in enthusiasm, in faith. May the energy and the sense of fellowship that embodies Lord’s Acre spill into our worship services and gatherings throughout the coming year.
Lord’s Acre is
- not just individual efforts but our family and community working together and serving together.
- not just about “money-making”, but about “disciple-making.”
- a celebration of love that binds us together as a church family.
- an investment in the future.
- an opportunity to make new friends.
- the church in action!
I am looking forward to working with all of you in this celebration of love and service.
Celene Terry, Lord’s Acre Chairperson 2018.
