In 1996, First United Methodist Church of Mabank inaugurated its Lord’s Acre Harvest Festival, based on the successful model developed by First UMC of Crowley, Texas.

In 2021, we celebrated our 26th (25+1 in 2021) Lord’s Acre Festival.  In the last 25 years, we have raised more than $500,000 to support our Youth and Children Ministries and Missions. Lord’s Acre funds have made possible a full-time staff person in charge of these ministries and have taken our young people on life-changing mission trips to sites in Texas, areas of service in the US, Mexico, and Honduras. God has truly blessed us!

But Lord’s Acre is more than just a fund-raiser for our Children and Youth Ministries.  It is a vital part of the Spirit of our congregation.  EVERYONE — whether 9 or 90 years old – participates in some way in the preparation for, and operation of the festival. This annual event, perhaps more than anything else we do all year, brings our entire church family together as One Body of service in Christ’s love.

It’s fun – it’s inspiring – it’s a great way to get to know other church members — it’s the church in action!
