In 1996, First United Methodist Church of Mabank inaugurated its Lord’s Acre Harvest Festival, based on the successful model developed by First UMC of Crowley, Texas.

We are currently celebrating our 27th Lord’s Acre Festival.  In the last 26 years, we have raised more than $500,000 to support our Youth and Children Ministries and Missions. Lord’s Acre funds have made it possible for a two staff persons to be in charge of such ministries which have taken our young people on life-changing mission trips to sites in Texas, areas of service in the US, Mexico, and Honduras.

God has truly blessed us!

But Lord’s Acre is more than just a fund-raiser for our Children and Youth Ministries.  It is a vital part of the Spirit of our congregation.  EVERYONE — whether 9 or 90 years old – participates in some way in the preparation for, and operation of the festival. This annual event, perhaps more than anything else we do all year, brings our entire church family together as One Body of service in Christ’s love.

It’s fun – it’s inspiring – it’s a great way to get to know other church members — it’s the church in action!
