8:45 a.m. Traditional Communion Worship Service:
Bulletin and slide-based service with exclusive music from the United Methodist Hymnal and occasional supplement from The Faith We Sing. Special music provided by Jubilation 5 and Cokesbury Choir. Service is led by the Pastor with the assistance of a lay liturgist. Communion is served weekly.
11:00 a.m. Emerging Worship Service:
A service driven by sanctuary screens with no bulletin. Service will be led by both the Pastor and the Director of Music Ministry. Readers of both sacred text and other literature will be incorporated into the service. The music will be eclectic…meaning that some will come from our hymnal, some from the supplements The Faith We Sing and Worship and Song, and we will also draw from the best of a growing collection of newly written sacred music. Special music will be provided by the Chancel Choir who will also be leaders of music for this service.
Autumn Sermon Series 2017: We Live, We Love.
Series Synopsis: The struggle with right relationship is a human theme that we’ve been dealing with ever since we were “humans.” To live is to love – no way around it! These themes cross boundaries of time and geography and we also find them in some of the most ancient stories of our Judeo-Christian tradition. How are we to deal with human frailty and the ways in which our fear shows up in difficult relationships?
Series Scripture Fragment: “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” — John 13:34
